Nevah Too Late

The Shops at Wailea hosts Nevah Too Late on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 4:30PM – 6PM

Nevah Too Late is a Maui band formed by three local boys that bring together the sounds of fingerstyle guitar, ukulele, and bass to cover songs spanning multiple eras and genres with a unique sound. Both Derek Bal (guitar and lead vocals) and Randy Leval (ukulele and vocals) were born and raised on Maui and are alumni of St. Anthony High School. Mickey Felipe (bass and vocals) was born and raised on Lāna‘i and is an alumnus of Lāna‘i High School. They have a repertoire of over 1000 songs including Hawaiian and Local Contemporary Songs, holiday favorites, and tons of popular hit music from the time of the Big Band era through every decade up to the present. They enjoy uniquely tailoring their music to fit the attendees and theme of each event they play for as well as taking requests from the audience. They “nevah” use the same set list twice.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua Welcomes Brother Noland on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 6PM – 9PM

Brother Noland will headline the resort’s Kapalua Concert Series, taking place at Alaloa Lounge, located in the lobby overlooking Kapalua and Honokahua Bay. Born and raised in Kalihi-Palama on the island of O‘ahu, Brother Noland has filled the airwaves with original compositions for nearly 40 years that have become local classics and island treasures. He is often credited with the birth of “Jawaiian” (fusion of Hawaiian, reggae and jazz) contemporary style music with classics like Coconut Girl, Pua Lane, and Big Ship, with his music being featured in several movies, including “Pineapple Express” and “Snakes on a Plane.” In 2019, he received the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award. Despite the accolades, Brother Noland has never forgotten his roots and his community. He serves as a mentor to Hawai‘i’s youth, helping them to define their choices and make a quality connection to the community through music and how to care and be cared for by the ‘āina (land) and the ocean. Noland has a deep connection to Hawai‘i, preserving Hawaiian customs, and indigenous knowledge and principles. Brother Noland authored the “Hawaiian Survival Handbook,” where he shares the outdoor skills he has developed over a lifetime spent in Hawai‘i’s forests and waters. Valet parking is complimentary.

BAMP Project presents Iration – Daytrippin in Hawai`i with special guests L.A.B and Kabaka Pyramid live at Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 6PM

Iration is an alternative/reggae group originally formed in Isla Vista, CA. Their deep-rooted island influence and Hawaii upbringing are fused with elements of rock, pop, and soul to create smooth, uplifting original sounds. The group is made up of members Micah Pueschel (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Adam Taylor (Bass), Joseph Dickens (Drums), Cayson Peterson (Keyboard/Synth), Micah Brown (Guitar/Vocals), and Drake Peterson (Trumpet, Keys). Now, after almost two decades creating music together, Iration has racked up more than 1 billion streams, topped Billboard charts, and established itself as one of the most beloved reggae-rock bands to emerge from the SoCal scene. Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate Hosts Jazz Maui’s Sunset Jazz Series on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 5PM – 7PM

Sunset Jazz spotlights an all-star line-up of local and visiting professional jazz musicians in the upstairs open-air pavilion. Different artists perform each week and the music is always top-notch.

On this Sunday enjoy Swing Star with Special guest Tom Stryker. Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate, through its Chocolate Laulima program, supports local nonprofit organizations such as the Arts Education for Children Group/Jazz Maui. Proceeds from concert ticket sales benefit Jazz Maui’s music education programs.
