Maui Farm Events and Lei Maui, Tropical Pineapple Centerpiece Class – Wednesday, May 29, 2024

Maui Farm Events and Lei Maui invite you to join us to make the ultimate summer flower arrangement: tropical flowers and greenery displayed in a fresh pineapple! Dive into a hands-on class complete with all materials and expert instruction on Wednesday, May 29th. All the flowers, hardware, and tools you’ll need to create your arrangement will be provided. Bring your favorite beverages to enjoy in addition to complimentary water, pineapple water, and mango pineapple iced tea. Glassware and ice will be available. This workshop will take place at the lookout at the Maui Gold Pineapple Farm in Hali’imaile.

Bailey House, Hawaiian Music Series – Thursday, May 30, 2024

The next Hawaiian Music Series of 2024 will take place on Thursday 30th of May at 6pm, at Hale Ho’ike’ike at the Bailey House in Wailuku. This free event will feature well-known local musician Nāpua Silva formally know as Nāpua Greig. Nāpua launched her own hula hālau. The hālau serves over 200 hula students on the island of Maui ages 5 and up. Hālau Nā Lei Kaumaka O Uka has won awards including at the Merrie Monarch Festival.

Whalers Village, Free Hula Class – Saturday, June 1, 2024

Join Whalers Village on Saturday, June 1st from 11am-12pm for their Papa Hula (Hula Class). Proclaimed as the “language of the heart” and “the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people” by King Kalākaua, hula is an art form. In this class you’ll be introduced to the basic footwork, learn how to position your hands to represent the words in an oli (chant) or mele (song), and discover the significance of this meaningful dance.

Murray Thorne: Deconstructed

ProArts Playhouse, Murray Thorne: Deconstructed – Saturday, June 1, 2024

Maui entertainer and rock songwriter Murray Thorne performs an “intimate but energetic” solo concert with synchronized visuals. The music features songs from his albums “Tin Can Telephone” and his latest release “Deconstruction Zone”. The show will also include some Celtic favorites and songs from his Pink Floyd tribute show “In The Flesh”. The performance is set against a visual backdrop of eclectic images and video that Murray created to invoke lyrical imagery, creating a unique musical experience.
