Wailuku Public Library, Slack Key with Jeff Peterson – Thursday, June 6, 2024
Maui’s own Jeff Peterson presents a program of soothing guitar music! His tunes celebrate Polynesian navigation by stars, the Haleakalā mountain sky where he grew up, stories of his grandfather lecturing at the Bishop Museum Planetarium, and original music including “Hawaiian Skies” from “The Descendants” film soundtrack. This program is suitable for all ages.

Mulligans On The Blue, Arlie Asiu Band – Friday, June 7, 2024
Mulligans on the Blue is happy to bring The Arlie Asiu Band, Mauiʻs ukulele rock band to the Mulligan Music Box on Friday, June 7th. Expect a heavy dose of ukulele rock mixed with island-style music, followed by a second set with Arlie on the electric guitar playing 80ʻs and 90ʻs classics that will get you on the dance floor. Also, special guests, the Fun Loving Infidels.

ProArts Playhouse, Georgy Gusev “The Lost Cello” – June 8, 2024
Internationally acclaimed cellist and composer Georgy Gusev returns to Maui after nearly a year to debut his one-man show, “The Lost Cello” at ProArts Playhouse on Saturday, June 8th. “The Lost Cello” tells the captivating story of Euro-Asian history and cultures, through the prism of Meastro Gusev’s cello – the family treasure. Crafted in St. Petersburg in 1911 for Meastro Gusev’s great-grandfather, this cello was lost for over 70 years after the October Bolshevik revolution. Found by Meastro Gusev’s mother and many years later brought all the way to Maui by Meastro Gusev himself to tell the story of love, betrayal, seduction, inspiration, lost, reunion… “The Lost Cello” is a musical play filled with poetry and original music performed on Cello and Piano by Georgy Gusev.
