The Opening Drive returns to Maui as it hosts The Sentry at The Plantation Course at Kapalua for the 27th year. All tickets to The Sentry and General Parking passes can be purchased by visiting https://thesentry.com/tickets.

Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, Native Pollinator Garden Volunteer Day, Friday, Jan. 3, 2025
Volunteer on Friday, January 3rd from 9-11am at Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge! Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge provides foraging and nesting opportunities for various endangered and endemic bird species. Also located within the Refuge is a Native Pollinator Garden. Visitors are invited to learn about native Hawaiian pollinators and their host plants. We are seeking volunteers to assist in enhancing the visitor experience of the garden. Visitors will be responsible for trimming back plants, removing debris, basic trail maintenance, and more. Knowledge of basic gardening and interest in being outdoors is required. Volunteers will be provided gloves and hand tools.

Lahaina Art Society, Art Fair – Friday, Jan. 3, 2025
Lahaina Art Society presents its Art Fair outside on grass at Lahaina Cannery Mall featuring award-winning juried paintings, ceramics, photography, glass art, woodwork, feather art, jewelry, and other hand-made items by Maui artists.
Kulamalu Town Center, Upcountry Farmers Market – Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025
The Upcountry Farmers Market is at the Kulamalu Town Center on Highway 37 near Long’s Drugs on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Vendors sell fresh locally grown organic produce including coconuts, macadamia nuts, freshly caught fish, tropical flowers, plants & trees, Maui-grown coffee, lilikoʻi butter, raw and vegan prepared foods, and exotic prepared foods such as Thai.

PC: Friends of Haleakalā National Park
Haleakalā National Park, Plant Nursery Volunteer – Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025
Join the Friends of Haleakalā National Park on August 6th for a service activity at the national park’s plant nursery in the Summit District of Haleakalā National Park, 9:00 am to noon. Participants will help care for rare, endemic plants being propagated, and some volunteers may also help catalog and organize materials in the park’s adjacent museum.
Participants should bring water, snacks, and gloves if they desire. The park will provide other tools. Wear sturdy shoes, and in case of out-planting work, bring a hat and sunscreen.
Volunteers can drive to the work location at the greenhouse and will not be charged an entrance fee. Reservations are required. Visit https://www.fhnp.org/service.html, scroll down to Monthly One-day Nursery Service Events, and click the link to reserve on the desired date.
